The team at We Run the City have worked hard to ensure that our targeted group sessions and impressive podcasts will support you to develop a great technique from the outset, and we work alongside you to persevere with your training to ensure you reach your personal goals.
What if you think you are unfit, but are keen to learn to run without injury? Then this course is the best option for you - whatever your level! Under the weekly guidance from one of our professional trainers, you will consistently improve both your fitness levels and technique, to be able to run effortlessly for 30-40 minutes.

Beginning from a standing start!
Runners new to the sport often begin with distances that are too long, or too fast, and running itself becomes a burden and demotivating. The trainers from We Run the City support you to enjoy running for pleasure, whilst focusing at the same time on techniques to prevent you developing injuries. With years of experience we can support you to start to run at an appropriate distance, and at the right pace, ensuring you stay motivated and enjoy it! We know there will be times you don't feel like running: it happens to us too! But running in a group will support and motivate you to achieve your goals, even on those days when you don't feel like it!.
Everyone has to start somewhere: yet this start is different for everyone. At We Run the City we factor this in and offer you the personal guidance you need as a new runner. Advanced runners have their own pace, and that is true for you too! Our trainers accommodate your running level into the sessions and together you can determine which pace suits you best. This is the start of discovering the pleasure in running and achieving your personal ambitions. Because running is for everyone!
What are the goals of the Beginners Course?
Our aim is that after the course you will be able to run continuously for around 30-40 minutes. You will find that running is the ideal way to easily improve your fitness levels. Starting to run is always harder on your own, and with encouragement from us, we will help you to achieve your personal goals: whether you just want to work on your stamina or endurance, gain running experience, prevent injuries or work on developing a healthier lifestyle. Working in a group setting towards that goal of 30 or 40 minutes running without stopping is your goal! If you have minimal fitness levels, little or no running experience, or just want to adopt a healthier lifestyle, then this is the right course for you!
So what can you expect from the Beginners Course?
During the 13 (or 15) weeks you will be guided throughout each training session under the supervision of a professional trainer. During the training sessions, we focus on developing running techniques, strength training and injury prevention. Our exercises have been developed to allow you to run responsibly without injuries and stay motivated! Each week you will also receive a running schedule so that you can keep up your training alone, or form a group together with your new running friends: because you will undoubtedly make new friends! And by the last week you will run 30 to 40 minutes effortlessly! That's a fantastic achievement that will create a strong bond with your group. And we, and you, will definitely be proud of your achievement!
